Clennie Covington Banks 63 of 615 Factory Street Elizabeth City, N. C. ��entered from Labor to Reward on Sunday May 31, 2015 in Chesapeake Medical Center, Chesapeake, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Allen Covington, Sr. and Ernell Rice Covington. ��She was the wife of Tony Banks of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. ��Raised in a Christian home she attended church regularly with her parents. ��As an adult she joined Grace and Truth Community Church in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. ��Educated in the public schools of Elizabeth City - Pasquotank County was a graduate of Elizabeth City High School class of 1969 and later matriculated and graduated from Elizabeth City State University. ��She furthered her education at University ��of Phoenix where she received her Masters Degree. Clennie was employed as a Marketing Teacher at Pasquotank County High School. ��She was active in many civic and community organizations and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband; Tony Banks of Elizabeth City, N.C. ��One son; Tripp Razor of ��Durham, N. C. �� Five Sisters; Marie Covington of Washington, D. C., Sonja Covington Seymore and her husband Cleotis of Chesapeake, Va. ��Faye Covington Howard of Atlanta, Ga./ Elizabeth City, N. C. ��Beulah Covington of Fayettevile, N. C. ��Beverly Covington of Elizabeth City, N. C. ��Two Brothers; Allen Covington, Jr. amd his wife Geraldine of Fort Washington, Md., and Manuel Covington and his wife Lisa of Atlanta, Ga. �� Condolences may be made to the family at www.robinsonfuneralandcremation.com ��The family request those attending the service to wear Purple in recognition of Cancer Awareness.�� Homegoing service will be held on Saturday June 6, 2015 at 2:30 PM ��in Grace and Truth Community Church ��with the Rev. Keith Smith. ��Burial will follow in New Oak Grove Cemetery, Elizabeth City, N. C. ��
