Obituary for Vivian Spence Hunter
Mrs. Vivian Spence Hunter 92, of 1100 Parkview Drive, Elizabeth City,North Carolina transitioned from Labor to Reward on Thursday, May 24, 2014 at 12:20 PM in her residence. She was born in Belcross, North Carolina to the late Meredith and Beulah Bartlett Spence. Reared in a Christian Home she joined New Sawyers Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Camden, North Carolina. Vivian attended the public schools of Camden where she graduated. She attended North Carolina Central University were she graduated and has attained the status of Golden Eagle. Continuing her education she attained the Masters Degree in Counselling from Adelphi University School of Social Work. After a stellar career she retired and moved to Elizabeth City, North Carolina where she joined Corner Stone Missionary Baptist Church. She was very active in many Church Ministries until her health failed. She leaves to cherish her memory One daughter; Saundra Dean Guice Long and her husband Burnett of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Eight Grandchildren. Seventeen Great Grandchildren. One Great Great Grandchild. The family is receiving friends at her residence. Funeral Service will take pace Saturday May 3, 2014 at 11:00 A. M. in Corner Stone Missionary Baptist Church. Her Body will lie in state from 10:00 AM until the time of service. A Christian Wake will be held on Friday May 2, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the church. Burial will be in the Spence Family Section of New Sawyers Creek Cemetery, Belcross, North Carolina.
