Obituary for Thomas E. Taylor
On Tuesday, January 8, 2013, Thomas Edward Taylor, Sr. peacefully crossed over from time to eternity at 74 years of age. Thomas was born to the late Allen and Elnora Spruill Taylor. Thomas was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Mazel McPherson Taylor on November 12, 1957. To this union six children were born. Thomas was preceded in death by a son, Edward Willis; two sisters: Ruth T. Brown, Mattie T. Jackson; a brother; Ervin Taylor; three sisters-in-law: Lillian Mercer, Doris Roundtree, and Vanessa Hoskins. Continuing to rember and celebrate his life are six children: Wanda Faye Smith (Dennis), Lynn Taylor Sawyer (Richard), Paula Taylor Price (Kenneth), Della Taylor Hicks (Timothy), Thomas Edward Taylor, Jr. (Yuko), and Jacinta Rosetta Taylor. Twelve grandchildren: Carlynn Lucas (Dwayne), Wanda Denis Reed (Joseph), Dennis Smith ll, (Carolyn), Daniel Smith, King Godwin, Malik Godwin, Kennethra Price, Hollie Price, Kevon Price, Davaye Butler- Taylor, Devin Butler-Taylor and Mercedes Willis-Jackson. Seven great- grandchildren: Ahriana, Jocobi, Jacob, Keleb, Londynn, Kara, Atalya. One Foster granddaughter Trinity, One foster great- grandson, Joshua; Three sisters: Lenora T. Spence, Evelyn T. Jackson, and Janet T. Brooks (James). One Brother: Allen Taylor, Jr. (Nora); Six Sisters-in-law: Marie Butts (Johnnie), Gladys Overton, Hattie Tyler, Iradene Lister, Gussie Bryant (Michael), Hollie Overton (Robert), Two Brothers-in-law: Glenwood Barrington (Jeanette), David McPherson, Jr. (Gloria); A special "sister cousin" Andrea T. Combs (Hersey); A Special son cousin"; Raymond Earl Butts, Jr. (Teresa); Two "Family Caregivers": Darriecia Griffin and Christopher Mock, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Remains rest at A. C. Robinson & Son Funeral 1100 Southern Avenue, Elizabeth City, North Carolina, 1100 Southern Avenue where viewing will be held Friday, January 11, 2013 from 5 PM to 9 PM. A Celebration of his life will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Elizabeth City State University, Mickey L. Burnim Fine Arts CEnter, 1704 Weeksville Road, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Interment New Oak Grove Cemetery, Peartree Road, Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
