Obituary for Murtie Mae Wilcox Seymore
Murtie Mae Wilcox Seymore 66, of 229 S. Currituck Road, Currituck, North Carolina entered rested from labor, and entered into her reward with Jesus, on Thursday morning, June 27, 2013 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Bea Wilcox, Sr. and Mytice Anderson Wilcox. Murtie was reared in a Christian Home. She attended the public Schools of Ocillia, Georgia until moving to Trenton, NJ and finally to Southampton, NY. She was employed as a CNA. She joined Community Baptist Church, Southampton, NY, where she served as an Usher for several years. After marrying her husband, she joined First Baptist Church of Southampton, NY, where she served as a Deaconess until moving to North Carolina. She joined Good Hope A. M. E. Zion Church and was a faithful member until she became ill. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Archie Seymore, whom she loved deeply until her passing. One Daughter, Annette Miller, and her special friend LeMuel of Magnolia, Delaware. Three Stepdaughters, Gwendolyn Pinckney of Freeport, NY, Wanda Lindsey and Lisa Louis both of Laurel, MD. Three Brothers; Bea Wilcox, Jr. of Ocillia, Georgia, Earl Wilcox and Willie F. Wilcox both of Brooklyn, NY. Three Grandchildren; Marquise Coles, Tramine Brown, and Andre Brown. Two Step Grandchildren; Jasmine Seymore and Danielle Pinckney and Three Great Grandchildren. Four Sisters in law; Ruth Gregory (Winfield) of Oxon Hill, MD., Marjorie Williams (Charles) of Potomac Falls, VA; Rev. Addie Overton of Currituck, NC and Peggy Baker (Rev. Louis) od Rockville, MD.
