Obituary for Louvenia Caroline Sylvester Melton
Louvenia Caroline Sylvester Melton 95 of 3915 Irvington Drive Charlotte, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in the Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, North Carolina.
She was the daughter of the late George Rufus and Louvenia McClease Sylvester and grew up in the Weeksville section of Elizabeth City, N. C. Mrs. Melton attended the public schools of Elizabeth City- Pasquotank County. At an early age she joine Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. where she remained a member until her death. She was the widow of John Melton and from this union 5 children were born, 3 which perceded her in death. Mrs. Melton was employed at Elizabeth City State University Caferteria where she retired.
She leaves to cherish her memoriy; One daughter Mrs. Catherine Melton Felton. One son; Mr. Keith Melton and his wife Maxine. Six Grandchildren and Four Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 24, 2017 at 2:00 P. M. in Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Freddie Godfrey, Pastor. Her remains will lay in state from 1:00 until the time of service, Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 P. M in the funeral home and at other times the family will recieve friends at the home 801 Park Street, Elizabeth City, North Carolina..
