Joyce H. Davis 57 of 304 S. 31st Street, Fort Pierce, Florida passed away in Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach, Florida on Sunday September 30, 2012. She was born on February 27, 1955 in Shiloh, North Carolina. She was a resident of Fort Pierce, Florida for 37 years coming from Shiloh, North Carolina. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband: Archie Davis; Her Father Harold Hughes; Brothers: Eddie Erske Hughes, Vernon "Shorty" Hughes and Elijah Hughes. Survivors include: Mother, Mary Elessie Robinson Hughes of Shiloh, North Carolina; Daughters: Barbara Hughes of Roseville, Ca., Doris Carter- Ellis (m. Juan Delmario) of Jaclsonville, Florida; Adopted Daughter; April Joy Hemmy of Fort Pierce, Florida. Adopted Son; Vaughn Chapman Hemmy of Fort Pierce, Florida. Sisters: Louise Haney (m. John) of Long Island, New York, Dorothy Mae Hughes- Cuffee of Shiloh, North Carolina, Mary Rebecca Hughes of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Brothers: Harold Hughes, Jr. and Kelly Alexander Hughes of Lawton, Oklahoma, Raymond Hughes and John Henry Hughes of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Alan Randolph Hughes and Christopher Mose Hughes of Shiloh, North Carolina. Four Grandchildren; Marsel, Cassius, Jaheem and Brooke Deliah Ellis. The family will receive friends at the home of her aunt, Ruby Hughes 241 Wickham Road, Shiloh, North Carolina.
