Obituary for Helen Geneva Cooper Blackwell
Helen Geneva Cooper Blackwell 73 of 323 Medical Arts Drive Edenton, North Carolina transitioned on Tuesday April 29, 2014 in the Edenton House. She was the daughter of the late Herman Cooper and Rosa Cherry Cooper. Educated in the public schools of Elizabeth City - Pasquotank Helen graduated from P. W. Moore High School. After graduation she continued her education at North Carolina Central University were she completed her formal education. She was a member of Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She was retired from the United States Coast Guard as a Civilian Employee. Helen owned and operated the Stadium Shops for many years. Funeral service will be held on Sunday May 4, 2014 at 1:30 P. M. in Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Viewing will be on Saturday May 3, 2014 in the Chapel of the funeral home. She leaves to cherish her memory one sister: Lillie Perry and her husband County Commissioner Cecil Perry of Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
