Hattie Elnora McPherson Tyler departed this life on Wednesday February 21st 2019 at her residence after a lingering illness.
She was the daughter of the late David McPherson Sr. and Martha Barrington McPherson. She was a member of Samuel Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Hattie attended the public schools of Elizabeth City - Pasquotank County continuing her education at eh College of the Albemarle. She was the widow of William Henry Tyler, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory One daughter; Stephanie Tyler Griffin of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Three sons; Gary Tyler and William Henry Tyler, Jr. of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Stacey Tyler ( Yvette ) of Lynchburg, Virginia. Eleven Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren.
Four Sisters; Hollie Overton ( Robert ) of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Gussie Bryant ( Michael ) of Chesapeake, Virginia, Ivadene Lister ( James Willie ) of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Marie Butts ( Johnnie ) of Raleigh, North Carolina. Two Brothers; David McPherson, Jr. ( Gloria ) of Newport News, Virginia, and Glenwood Barrington ( Jeanette ) of Brooklyn, New York.
Funeral Services are Saturday March 2, 2019 in Samuel Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Burial will follow in the Bogues Family Cemetery, Ivy Neck Road, Belcross (Camden County), North Carolina. Viewing will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 in the Chapel of the funeral home. The family is receiving friends at 1312 Normal Avenue, Elizabeth City, North Carolina where the funeral pocession will leave from at 12:30 P. M. the day of the service.
