George Edward Lewis, Jr. 57 of 1401 Fairmont St. NW Washington, DC departed this life on Sunday, September 22, 2013 in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Washington, DC. He was the son of Ruby L. Lewis Butts of Charleston, SC and the late George Edward Butts. George was married to Terry Cowell Lewis of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He was a retired Navy Veteran attaining the rank of E6. Geogre later attended COA where he was a member of its basketball team. Memorial services with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of A. C. Robinson Funeral Home, Inc. The family will receive friends at the home of his wife Terry Cowell Lewis 324 Forest Skipper Drive, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Besides his mother and wife he is survived by Three Sons, George Edward Lewis III and Darrius AJ of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Terrance Damon Lewis of Orlando, Florida. Five Sisters; Willie Mae Graham, Wanda Butts both of Charleston, S. C., Sandra Brown of Virginia Beach, Va, Phyllis Fetmster of Washington, DC and Ruby Patricia Byrd of California.
